Huawei Configuration

This section shows step-by-step instructions on how to configure the Huawei inverter to communicate with El Plus Plus.

Check that you have the correct version of your Huawei Dongle Driver

Launch FusionSolar, click on Devices->Dongle-TAXXXXXXXXXX. If 'Software version' displays V200R022C10SPC108, proceed to STEP 5; otherwise, start with STEP 1.

STEP 1: Upgrade Huawei Dongle

This is done to ensure that you have the correct version of the drivers for communication with the inverter.

Download the latest driver for SUN2000.

Save it on your phone. Our experience suggests that logging in with SMS is better.

STEP 2: Install Huawei app.

If you haven't installed FusionSolar, do it here.

Accept all privacy policies and required permissions.

STEP 3: Connect to Huawei Dongle

Launch FusionSolar and click on 'Me' (1 in the image)

Click on 'Commission Devices' (2 in the image)

Stand near the inverter and click on Connect for SDongleA

Select the WiFi network associated with the Dongle. In the image, it's named SDongleA-TA22B0260842 (4 in the image)

WiFi Password is 'Changeme'

If/When asked for a password for the Installer user, the default should be '00000a' or '0000000a'. If the passwords don't work, ask the installer for the password. In our case, it was the electrician who did the installation.

STEP 4: Driver Upgrade

We do this because the newer drivers have Modbus TCP option, while the older ones do not.

After configuring the password, you will reach the following screen and click on 'Maintenance'

After this, click on 'Upgrade'

After this, click on 'Select' marked as 1 and then choose the upgrade package you downloaded in Step 1.

After this, click on the File Name for the upgrade package you selected. Marked as 2 in the image.

STEP 5: Allow Modbus TCP Communication

This is done to allow El Plus Plus AB to communicate with the inverter. Now you should connect to the inverter instead of the Dongle.

Launch FusionSolar, click on Me (1 in the image)

Click on 'Commission Devices' (2 in the image)

Stand near the inverter and click on Connect for SUN2000-XXXX-XX

Now, select WiFi and stand near the inverter. By default, the network's SSID will be SUN2000-(SERIALNUMBER), and the password is Changeme. A tip is to turn on Airplane Mode on the phone before selecting the SUN2000-(SERIALNUMBER) network as this proved to be easier. When connecting to WiFi, some devices may show a warning that the network has no internet connection, and you can just continue.

You will be asked for a password for the Installer user, the default should be 00000a or 0000000a. If the passwords don't work, the installer of the inverter knows the password. In most cases, it's the electrician who did the installation.

Now, change the ModBus settings by selecting the option Dongle Parameter Settings >> Modbus TCP, and choose the option (Enable without restrictions).

  • The next step is to install and launch the El Plus Plus App!
